GoZones!

Building Stronger Neighborhoods

Over 1,000 youth have spent time at one of our GoZones! sites.  The youth and their families participate in mentoring, tutoring, character education, learning community responsibilities and positive activities from our AmeriCorp members and community volunteers.

The GoZones! mission is to strengthen neighborhoods by providing activities and educational opportunities that enrich the lives of the children, youth, families, and individuals in our community.

GoZones! goals:

Provide good options and great opportunities for those it serves by collaborating with Inter-Faith Ministries, local congregations, nonprofit organizations, the City of Wichita, and AmeriCorps to address family, individual and community needs..

Strengthen our community by identifying neighborhood assets and resources to benefit youth and families and to broaden the range in which neighborhoods can sustain themselves.

Train and empower AmeriCorps members with youth and family-focused skills and a sense of national identity, accomplishment, and pride for the services they perform.

Who benefits:

You! Implement your dream. Accomplish what you once thought seemed impossible. Inter-Faith Ministries GoZones! will give each one of us the power to build programs that will create a safe and secure community and that will have long-lasting change, not only in your neighborhood, but the entire city of Wichita, Kansas.

GoZones! programming is provided at no or low cost to the participants.

GoZones! help bring neighborhoods together through monthly community events, block parties, community dinners, health and career fairs, and many different sources of information that prove to be beneficial to the community.
Strong Neighborhood + Strong community = Success. That is a GoZones! promise.

This year the AmeriCorps GoZones! program will focus in two areas:

Heart for the Homeless – AmeriCorps members will assist at the Inter-Faith Ministries shelters with community events, group sessions, and serve in the afterschool program with children of IFM clients and residents.

Project Make a Difference – Activities will be structured by project. AmeriCorps members will help provide services to local low-income community projects like creating and implementing a new food pantry, helping at one of the local holiday giving programs, or serving meals at one of the many summer lunch programs.

GoZones! also collaborates with the Inter-Faith Ministries Kansas Benefit Bank.  For more information, email: or call 316-264-9303
