CTECH - Food Stamp Program

The Food Stamp Program is America�s first line of defense against hunger. In 2005, food stamps helped 25 million people put food on the table. At the same time, the program reached an all-time high accuracy and efficiency rate.

At any given time in 2005, food stamps helped 182,000 Kansans feed their families - up 57% from 2000.

Food stamps do more than put food on the table. In 2005 the Food Stamp Program had a $28.4 million economic development impact on Kansas - stabilizing families, maintaining jobs during the downturn, and boosting the Kansas economy.
