CTECH - Food Stamp Program

The Food Stamp Program is Americas first line of defense against hunger. In 2005, food stamps helped 25 million people put food on the table. At the same time, the program reached an all-time high accuracy and efficiency rate.

At any given time in 2005, food stamps helped 182,000 Kansans feed their families - up 57% from 2000.

Food stamps do more than put food on the table. In 2005 the Food Stamp Program had a $28.4 million economic development impact on Kansas - stabilizing families, maintaining jobs during the downturn, and boosting the Kansas economy.
